The BMR was formed as a non-profit oriented, non-religious, non-political organization to mainly represent all the suppliers/traders of Middle East Recycling Industry and to bring them under one banner and platform with the unified thoughts of promoting the Metal Recycling Business of Middle East, protecting the environment and sharing market information about metal recycling and to face the new challenges in the present financial crises. This bureau is focused mainly on Unity among Middle East Recycling Industry which is one of the largest geographical sectors dealing with million tons of scrap which yields billions of US dollars.

A Message From President

A message from The President,

Dear fellows and colleagues,

It is a privilege and honor to be given this opportunity to serve you and our industry. 

Today marks the first day of my term as BMR President and as I embark on this journey along with our respected board members and international representatives, I would like to start with extending to all of you my best wishes and appreciation to your continuous support and dedication towards BMR.
Also I will take this opportunity as well to extend our thanks and appreciation to our past president, Mr Salam Al Shariff on the hard work and dedication he put in the last 10 years in leading the BMR from its inception to date.

Mr Salam will be of a continuous asset to the organization as he assumes the Honorary Chairman position. 

We just concluded our 40th board meeting where the new board started its new term for the next three years.  

As we move forward, the board along with the associated committees, including: Executive, Events,  Communication, Marketing, Finance and Mediation will all be working closely together under my leadership to continue serving your interests throughout various events and activities and all possible means.

The interests of our members will be always our top priorities and concerns. Your continuous participation and feedbacks is very much essential and I will be always available to hear from you and share your opinions and suggestions.

We will continue our cooperation and support of various international recycling associations mainly BIR ,ISRI,MRAI and CMRA working together to drive the success of our recycling industry.

We kickoff a busy season ahead with a number of events and conferences taking place in the next few months that we will be attending or actively participating and organizing. 

- The Diwali festival celebrations Nov 3 at the Oberoi hotel in Dubai and BMR preparations are underway and we look forward to meet with you all on that auspicious event.

And most importantly our 8th international conference March 10/11 ,2019 at Le Meridien Dubai  as preparations are under way . Your active participation is essential in bringing our 8th conference to a great success .

I would like to call on all our members to get involved and contribute. Your input, suggestions and feedback is highly appreciated and will help us deliver another outstanding BMR conference.

Our Vision

Bureau of Middle East Recycling (BMR) serves as the regional forum and voice of the recycling industry in the Middle East. It exists as an organization of diverse recycling processors and stockists committed to promoting recycling awareness in the region, transforming handy resources into the industrial raw materials while preserving the natural resources.
BMR envisions strengthening cooperation among the Middle East suppliers and worldwide traders and consumers. Eventually placing recycling in the Middle East on the world recycling map.

Our Mission

It is our mission to promote environmental protection awareness in the Middle East while expanding the course of recycling industry in the Middle East through its members within the Middle East and through ambassadorship.
 

Sharing grassroots market information, industry trends and best practices; as well as to provide a means for appropriate lobbying to collectively address issues of all levels.

Activities

This Bureau will hold Annual General Meeting (AGM) wherein all members will have to attend the same to discuss the various aspects of the organization annually.
                                
The Bureau will hold various other meetings, General Meeting or an Extra Ordinary General Meeting as and when required to discuss any matters related to the BMR.
                                
The Board Members and Board Ambassadors will be the Administrative Board of the Bureau and will be the decision makers.
                                
The Board shall ensure that all its members abide by the norms of this Bureau.
                                
The Board shall provide support to the organization dedicated for development of international trade and investments in the Middle East.
                                
The Board shall make suggestions/representations with the appropriate Government authorities on matters of policies and procedures pertaining to Scrap Recycling Trade.
                                
The Board shall coordinate and/or affiliate with organizations in various parts of the world with similar or related objectives to exchange views, information and to work collectively, for instance the Bureau of International Recycling (BIR).
                                
The Board shall publish for private circulation amongst members such newsletters reports and/or other literature as the Board Members may deem fit from time to time.
                                
The Board Members may invite prominent Ambassador from the members or patrons of Bureau of International Recycling to Dubai to be the Patron(s) of the BMR with a view to seek guidance and support in achieving the objectives of the BMR.

Our Objectives

It is our main objective to promote environmental protection awareness in the Middle East while expanding the course of recycling industry in the Middle East through its members within the Middle East and through ambassadorship.



To join hands and make recycling industry in Middle East efficient. To face the new challenges in the present economic turmoil and financial crises and to have solidarity among all members.
To provide the opportunity for the board members and all professionals to meet on a regular basis and to act as unified forum for the exchange of information relating to the current or prospective business and/or professional opportunities in the Middle East.
Protecting members’ interest by not hiring any staff who are working or have worked in companies who are members of BMR, without a written NOC (No Objection Certificate) duly signed by the former and/or present employer, that permits him to work with another BMR member company.
To fight against any form of trade barrier that could jeopardize the free movement of commodities across borders and to intensify the importance of free access to raw materials worldwide.

Sharing grassroots market information, industry trends and best practices; as well as to provide a means for appropriate lobbying to collectively address issues of all levels.

To provide its members with the proper forum for exchanging commercial, technical, economical, legal and environmental information relating to recycling trade in Middle East.

To establish technical commodity division and working committees to coordinate all BMR activities with a secretariat under the direct authority of the Board Members, Executive Committee and Advisory Council.

To devise a common sales/purchase contract annexure binding that can safeguard suppliers and the buyers, and is to be presented for arbitration.
