The BMR was formed as a non-profit oriented, non-religious, non-political organization to mainly represent all the suppliers/traders of Middle East Recycling Industry and to bring them under one banner and platform with the unified thoughts of promoting the Metal Recycling Business of Middle East, protecting the environment and sharing market information about metal recycling and to face the new challenges in the present financial crises. This bureau is focused mainly on Unity among Middle East Recycling Industry which is one of the largest geographical sectors dealing with million tons of scrap which yields billions of US dollars. Thus, it is essential to support the Suppliers from the Middle East and the buyers who buy materials from the Middle East in fulfilling the contracts. The role of BMR is to be a key resource in determining to join together and make metal scrap industry in the Middle East better and to create a clean environment in the Middle East. The commitment to excellence is based on becoming today’s partner for tomorrow’s building client relationships. The BMR which has been formed with the cooperation and understanding of all the business giants of Middle East who in turn framed a board of representatives called Board Members consisting of 13 members from United Arab Emirates and 6 to 10 Board Ambassadors from other parts of the world.
In the strong belief of consolidation and teamwork being the only way to face the future challenges and overcoming the economic and financial global hardships, BMR (Bureau of Middle East Recycling) was founded under my leadership that has an accumulative of more than 4 decades in both domestic and international arenas. All for the objective of serving the recycling industry and our values needs. The economic recession was suggested by several important indicators of economic downturn. Due to the downturn of the economy, all recycling sectors have suffered across the scale. The Board of Directors of BMR spearheaded by yours truly, welcomes the Middle East Business Community and other recycling sectors to come along and join BMR as we unite in surpassing and overcoming our industry’s challenges towards a better tomorrow.
Bureau of Middle East Recycling (BMR) serves as the regional forum and voice of the recycling industry in the Middle East. It exists as an organization of diverse recycling processors and stockists committed to promoting recycling awareness in the region, transforming handy resources into the industrial raw materials while preserving the natural resources.
BMR envisions strengthening cooperation among the Middle East suppliers and worldwide traders and consumers. Eventually placing recycling in the Middle East on the world recycling map.
It is our mission to promote environmental protection awareness in the Middle East while expanding the course of recycling industry in the Middle East through its members within the Middle East and through ambassadorship.
Sharing grassroots market information, industry trends and best practices; as well as to provide a means for appropriate lobbying to collectively address issues of all levels.
This Bureau will hold Annual General Meeting (AGM) wherein all members will have to attend the same to discuss the various aspects of the organization annually.
The Bureau will hold various other meetings, General Meeting or an Extra Ordinary General Meeting as and when required to discuss any matters related to the BMR.
The Board Members and Board Ambassadors will be the Administrative Board of the Bureau and will be the decision makers.
The Board shall ensure that all its members abide by the norms of this Bureau.
The Board shall provide support to the organization dedicated for development of international trade and investments in the Middle East.
The Board shall make suggestions/representations with the appropriate Government authorities on matters of policies and procedures pertaining to Scrap Recycling Trade.
The Board shall coordinate and/or affiliate with organizations in various parts of the world with similar or related objectives to exchange views, information and to work collectively, for instance the Bureau of International Recycling (BIR).
The Board shall publish for private circulation amongst members such newsletters reports and/or other literature as the Board Members may deem fit from time to time.
The Board Members may invite prominent Ambassador from the members or patrons of Bureau of International Recycling to Dubai to be the Patron(s) of the BMR with a view to seek guidance and support in achieving the objectives of the BMR.
